I cannot stop listening to Architecture In Helsinki, it just makes me sooooo happy. Its pretty fun and uplifting thats for sure. I cannot wait for them to release a new album, and same with The Mars Volta.. its definetley about time.

My step dads mother, Chris has asked me to do some pictures for some childrens stories she is writting. It will be really fun, something different for a change, and something very good could come of this. Chris and her husand Roger ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Na… ) are very smart and accomplished people, I have no doubt that what Chris is working on will be really great.

I need to start doing some cat research. If I do some practise now then hopefully it will seem easier when I start some character design. The character is going to be based off Chris and Rogers cat Magnus. He's so cute. They have quite a few cats, he's the youngest one I believe.

I've done some work for both Chris and Roger before: c-t-supahfly.deviantart.com/ar… this was the book cover I worked on, but it ended up being a poster instead, put up at bookstores where he did some readings. Still pretty cool though. So it will be interesting to see what Chris wants to do. She is a pretty amazing woman.

So thats cool. I've been doing a little bit of comic book work, but its hard working on a project with 2 other people, sometimes meetings seem impossible. We have the first issue mapped out, 2 pages scripted, and a few layouts done, so thats something. Its just a lot of time, and 3 people struggling to find time in 3 already busy lives. I will keep hanging on though, because I think that what we have is something really cool and original. I hope we can actually do it.

As always I am open for commisions. Untill the end of April I will have a 15$ sketch special on. No colors, just a pencil sketch. Other rates will apply for color work, posters, boxes, etc. Contact me here or via carling@phatcowcartoons.com.

If you haven't seen the trailer for Where 'The Wild Things Are' yet then make sure you check it out, because its friggin' amazing! I swear I almost cried haha, I read that book sooooo many times as a kid. Chills I say haha.

Alright enough geeking out, I should be on my way to draw cats, meow.

Peace Out
Carling

Where the Wild Things Are looks awesome! My buddy works at Warner Bros. and has already seen it (the jerk). He said it was great, but the version he saw was prior to the reshoots, so who knows. I do know I am looking forward to it.
